GM sold several 2023 corvettes with the wrong suspension calibration
A new report from Road & Track the people there said Corvette Bowling Green Assembly Plant maybe made a little mistake in the calibration C8Electronic suspension control module on select vehicles. common engine told the outlet that it has issued a service update to its dealers regarding the issue, but they have remained silent about the number of vehicles affected.
Dealers are said to be being asked to fix the problem all over Corvette model year 2023 in their current inventory. They are also required to fix any customer vehicle that goes through the service department for unrelated reasons.
Based on R&T, The fix is pretty simple. GM technicians are supposed to just recalibrate the C8’s Electronic Suspension Control Module with the correct program. In fact, there’s no need to swap out physical parts and the entire test will take just 12 minutes to complete. Then they’ll need another 18 minutes (that’s horrible!) to properly install the program. Jalopnik reached out to Chevrolet for comment, and a spokesperson for the automaker let us know that not every 2023 C8 Corvette is impacted. Only vehicles equipped with mag ride will need to have the suspension program recalibration. That being said, it’s probably a safe bet to say the E-Ray won’t be impacted since it won’t be in production until the end of 2023.
