A military discharge ceremony was held in honor of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who will step down next week after 16 years in office.
Mrs. Merkel chose three tracks – one of which raised a few eyebrows. She chose a hit song by Hildegard Knef entitled For Me It Should Rain Red Roses, an 18th century hymn, and an East German hit by punk singer Nina Hagen.
