Epoxy Flooring
Long considered the most durable garage floor coating around, epoxy has its benefits. (There’s a new winner in my opinion, though – details below on what we’ve picked!)

Polyurethane floor coating
Probably the most popular DIY choice for garage floor coverings, polyurethane has benefits for your garage floor!
Long used in industrial facilities, polyurethane coatings are flexible and resistant to abrasion. Long-lasting and shiny, these can help protect your garage floor in a do-it-yourself environment.

Polyaspartic floor coverings
We chose a polygon floor covering to add a durable layer over our existing old garage floor. For us, the choice is easy!
Why? Because we’ve got an epoxy coating on our garage floor and it doesn’t hold up well over time. We want the most worry-free product.

- Not fade

Defect:
- Higher price
- Professional Settings are Suitable
- Smooth (adds chips for traction and color)
- Weak against battery acid (epoxy is better at this)
- Moisture can be an issue from time to time (if your garage concrete holds moisture)

Our polygon floor coverings were installed by a local company in St. Louis named Hello Garage.
We love that we can customize the colors. With the addition of splashes of color, we created the perfect neutral gray garage floor. Our colors include the following Sherwin Williams paint colors (33% each):
- 7022 (Alpaca)
- 7029 (Pleasant Gray)
- 7015 (Gray gray)
I like that in different lights and times of day the floor can be more beige or grayer.
While everyone’s situation will be different (based on garage size, installation costs in your area, moisture content in the concrete, any existing coatings, etc.), you will likely spend at least $2,500 to cover the garage floor of a two-car garage.
