@XBontendo MD Collection has been rom on an emulator with tons of lags, audio issues etc. This is 4/5 games completely rebuilt from the ground up in a modern engine with lots of features. Additional features, tweaks and most importantly tons of unlockables, challenges, score attacks, timed attacks, leaderboards, mirror mode, boss rush , special staged only mode etc. Sonic game replay power always perfects your runs so these are a HUGE way to make it all so much better for longevity. people who are genuinely interested in this content and have played these games hundreds of times and want to continue to do so in exciting new ways.
$44 seems like a bargain to me, especially compared to, say, $60 for 3 roms that fit on Mario 3D All Stars. (By the way, I’m also happy to buy because I love those 3 games. I don’t hate Mario). But of course, your point will be how interested you as an individual are in these particular games. From where I am, this would be the definitive way to play 5 of my favorite games ever – games I bought in the 90s and have never stopped playing since. But for those who are only vaguely interested, maybe the Megadrive rom pack (or NSO expansion pack) offers more variety to dip in and pull out. I also understand that point of view, although it couldn’t be further from mine, I respect it.
