Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo Vs Instax Mini LiPlay: Side-by-side Image Comparison

Fujifilm Instax Camera are currently the most popular instant cameras on the market. From these instant cameras, the Instax mini series holds the largest share of the market. And the newest mini Instax camera is Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo. With a classic camera-like design, how does this new Instax camera compare to the previous Instax Mini LiPlay?

Fujifilm currently offers two types of Instax cameras. There are true analog film cameras, such as the Instax SQ1 and Instax Mini 90, and there are digital cameras that print on Instax film, such as Instax Mini LiPlay and the new Instax Mini Evo. Instax Mini LiPlay and Instax Mini Evo are two of Fujifilm’s latest Instax Mini cameras.

Interestingly, it seems that both of these instant cameras are using the same hardware components. Both cameras use a 28mm (equivalent) lens with f/2.0 aperture with a 1/5″ CMOS sensor with 2,560 x 1,920 resolution. This seems to be a relatively low resolution, however, it has been optimized for film the size these cameras print on.

Despite the fact that both cameras appear to use similar hardware, there is a huge difference in the results each camera produces. The Instax Mini Evo produces images that tend to be better exposed when using the auto exposure features. Also, the colors from the Instax Mini Evo end up looking more vivid and appealing than the Instax Mini Liplay.

The only downside about the Instax Mini Evo is that Fujifilm currently only offers a single color camera. Besides, it seems that Fujifilm has done a great job with its latest instant camera. Test full video linked above with detailed side-by-side results and comparisons.
