Ford recalls F-Series Super Duty trucks for transmission shaft failure



DIGEST – Ford To be remember almost a quarter of a million heavy duty pickup truck in the US because the drive shaft can break and cause loss of power.

The recall includes some F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickups from model years 2017 to 2022. The vans with gasoline engine and aluminum transmission shaft.

Ford said in documents posted by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the insulation and noise canceling underneath the body can loosen and touch the drive shaft. The shaft can break, causing power loss or loss of control if it hits the ground.

Incidents can also cause trucks to roll over if they are stopped and parked brake not on.

Dealers will inspect the drive shaft and fix if necessary, and attach the insulators properly. Owners will be notified by mail starting April 4.
