Ontario, California hosted a scheduled 12-round super-middleweight match on Saturday night between Jaime Munguia and Sergiy Derevyancheno. It’s a close combat between two boxers in action in theory – and indeed it turns out to be the ultimate action battle in practice as well. Indeed, it could really turn out to be a fighting contender of the year. For this is a real throw-down.
It took half a round for Derevyanchenko and Munguia to enter the fight, rushing into each other very violently. Each man landed with difficulty. It was a first round. Munguia rocked his men for a second then started firing rockets at his opponent. Derevyanchenko responded by violently returning fire himself. The fight got off to a great start. The battle slowed down only slightly in the first half of the third round, but it resumed at a furious pace in the second. Looks like the fight will be decided by who has the better jaw.
Munguia went on to have a strong fourth round thanks to a stab and some effective punches. The two men fought like crazy in the fifth inning, though Munguia seemed to be getting the worst of it. Indeed, it seems the war is on the verge of stopping. Munguia fought back like a fighter, but Derevyanchenko continued to open fire. However, Munguia survived the round amazingly. Derevyanchenko appeared to have made the most of the sixth inning, allowing Munguia to land effectively.
Things remained brutal in the seventh inning, although Munguia could have had more clean shots. When he joined, however, Munguia ended up having to eat hard punches. In the eighth round, it seems that the famous Mexican boxer is learning to hold his opponent with a stab. Derevyanchenko at one point looked like he was about to collapse, then got up and hit Munguia’s net. The ninth goal saw Derevyanchenko knock down his opponent cleanly and forcefully. However, at the end of the half, it was Munguia who launched strong shots.
Munguia had his moments in the tenth inning, but Derevyanchenko clearly made it difficult for Munguia. However, that didn’t stop Munguia from hurting Derevyanchenko in the eleventh minute. Derevyanchenko, though was able to avoid being completely overwhelmed. It looked like the fight was on Derevyanchenko as Munguia amazingly knocked him down with a shot to the body in the final round. Dreevyanchenko beat the count, but Munguia is now on the verge of bankruptcy. Somehow, somehow, Derevyanchenko survived the round.
However, in the end, it was Munguia who came out of the ring with a narrow victory.
