Firestone is rolling out expanded services to electric and hybrid vehicle drivers at select service centers, as well as electric vehicle charging, Bridgestone announced Tuesday in a press release.
A total of 44 service centers in Austin and San Francisco will now provide “inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair” of high-voltage components for both hybrid and electric vehicles, as well as “health checks” and troubleshooting” for the electric motor and battery pack, the company said.
Bridgestone is also partnering with Blink Charging to add 50 Tier 2 charging stations at 25 Firestone stores during the first quarter of 2022. The chargers will be installed at locations in Austin, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. , the company said.
In addition to servicing electric vehicles, Bridgestone also aims to provide better tires for them. Blink Charging, meanwhile, recently announced that it will deliver Level 2 charging stations to General Motors dealers. This Charger 19.2 kw will coincide with the launch of the GMC Hummer EV 2022 pickup and the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq SUV. Both models will be able to take advantage of the full capacity of Blink stations.
