Final Leg of PA-Bred, PA-Sired Series at Parx Dec. 27

The final leg of the $1 million PA-Sired PA-Bred Stallion Series is set for Dec. 27 at Parx Racing.

The $200,000 Miss Behaviour Stakes for fillies drew a field of nine while the $200,000 Wait For It Stakes drew 11. Both races will be contested over one mile and 70 yards. Four races for 2-year-olds were run for the inaugural series in 2022, and then the series was expanded to six races with the addition of the Miss Behaviour and Wait For It.

The first leg of the 2023 series kicked off on PA Day at the Races Aug. 21. Gamboling Ghost  led home a field of 10 in the $100,000 Whistle Pig Stakes over 5 1/2 furlongs while Jody’s Ruby  topped nine in the 5 1/2-furlong $100,000 Miss Blue Tye Dye Stakes for fillies.

The series continued Sept. 23 with the second leg on the Pennsylvania Derby (G1) undercard. Notice of Action  held on to take the $150,000 Prince Lucky Stakes at 6 1/2 furlongs versus eight others while Aoife’s Magic  romped over a field of nine in the filly equivalent, the $150,000 Imply Stakes over 6 1/2 furlongs. Both Notice of Action and Aoife’s Magic return in their respective races for the final leg of the series.

Notice of Action, a son of Hoppertunity   bred by Bryan Minnich, looks to rebound from his first career loss when third by 2 1/4 lengths in the Pennsylvania Nursery Stakes. Previously, the colt had reeled off three straight victories, including the Prince Lucky and a five-length allowance romp, all at Parx.

Addyson’s Dream , who was third in the Prince Lucky, returns alongside last-out maiden special weight winners Blameitonmymomma  and Socially Awkward . Uncle Heavy , the beaten favorite when fifth in the Pennsylvania Nursery, looks to improve off that effort after a poor start left him last in the early going.

Aoife’s Magic, a daughter of Smarty Jones  bred by Mohns Hill Farm, enters the Miss Behaviour a perfect 3-for-3 in her career. Following her 4 1/4-length Imply romp, the chestnut filly prepped with a 4 1/4-length allowance score at Parx in November.

The respective second- and third-place finishers from the Imply Stakes, Noisy On the Bay  and Lucky Opportunity , take another try at their unbeaten foe. The field also features three last-out maiden special weight winners: Mary’s Reward , Flamingo Way , and Namora .

The pair of $200,000 stakes take place as the eighth and ninth races on Parx’s Wednesday card, with respective post times of 3:14 p.m. and 3:41 p.m. ET.

Following the conclusion of the Stallion Series, a $50,000 trainer’s bonus will be split among the conditioners of the horses who accumulated the first-, second-, and third-highest number of points over the six series races.

The series for 2024 includes six races again but four races will be offered for 2-year-olds (two divisions each for males and females) and the final two races will be carried into 2025 for the eligible horses to run as 3-year-olds. These seven-furlong 3-year-old races will be the $100,000 Prince Lucky Stakes and $100,000 Imply Stakes to be run during PA Day at the Races at Parx.
