DEMA Diving Community Champion Award: Female Chamber Diver Honors Platinum Winner
DEMA is nearby, and after last year’s rather low-key edition due to the pandemic, the show is welcoming many exhibitors back regularly and hosting its important events. The organizers have now announced 2022 Snorkeling Community Champion. Platinum Award given to Women Divers Walk of Fame (WDHOF) in recognition of the organization’s efforts in promoting diving opportunities through training grants and scholarships. So far this year, WDHOF has given out $70,000 to nearly 50 individuals, the majority of whom are women. The Gold Award was given to Center for Ocean Awareness, Research and Education (COARE) for the development of the global plastic treaty, while the Silver Award went to Diving Pirates Organizationworked with six dive centers to provide diving and training systems for seven people with disabilities.

The annual DEMA Diving Community Champion Award recognizes DEMA member companies that use their recreational diving businesses and position in the community to make a difference locally or on a broader scale. 2022 Platinum Winners: Hall to honor female divers
Part of the mission of the Women Divers Hall of Fame is to support the underwater world and its related professions by promoting diving opportunities through grants, scholarships, internships and mentoring, and mentoring. worldwide network of industry contacts. Gold Award Winners in 2022: Center for Ocean Awareness, Research and Education (COARE)

It provides information and education to divers about plastic pollution through the Green Divers for Blue Oceans initiative. Over the past year, COARE has mainly focused on developing a global plastic treaty that protects human, animal health and the environment. It has partnered with a consortium representing all stakeholders in the United Nations Environment Council.
Silver Award Winners 2022: Diving Pirates Organization
The Pirate Diving Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization that shares adaptive diving with people with physical disabilities. The Dive Pirates’ 2022 “Unleash Your Inner Pirate” effort connected six dive centers in four states to provide life-changing experiences for seven people with disabilities, five of They are ex-soldiers. The organization has provided a full range of diving and training systems to the acclimatized receivers as well as to their adapted diving companions. The experience culminates in a diving trip to Key Largo. For some of these recipients, it was their first time traveling with a disability.
DEMA’s goals in creating this program included recognizing DEMA Member companies that are contributing to their communities and society through recreational diving and making these community efforts possible. known to the public.
