How would you describe your everyday style, and how would you change it up for the fall?
With a mixed schedule, my outfit can change dramatically throughout the week—I’ll wear everything from casual knits to tailored splits. However, I tend to stick with items that don’t take much to style, meaning lots of simple trousers, solid-colored tops, and neutral sweaters. Last season, I really liked bright colors, but cooler temperatures have led me to prefer strong neutrals like navy and dark blue along with materials like tweed and cashmere.
What makes this the perfect sporty look, and how does it work make you feel?
This style has a very LA feel. Everyone here loves to wear sportswear-inspired outfits, so leggings and a sports jacket are a great fit for that laid-back atmosphere. I tend to stick with all black to create my sporty look, but the strong electric blue sneakers and trendy sunglasses make the whole outfit feel cooler than usual. IIt’s great that these sneakers are easy on the feet and still look good. I really don’t have to worry about wearing an extra pair of shoes after a workout.
What are your tips and tricks for styling running shoes on days when you do more than run or exercise?
In general, stick to a color palette. Don’t try to mix lots of colors, shapes and shadows. When in doubt, minimalist pieces are much easier to pair with sneakers than sportswear with lots of bells and whistles.
