Family of murdered Nottinghamshire woman Mckyla Taylor releases statement describing ‘hole in our hearts’ | UK News

A woman’s “heartbroken” family has expressed their emotions after being accused of murder.

Mckyla Taylor, 27, was found dead at a home in Lowtown Street, Worksop, shortly after 2 a.m. on Tuesday.

A murder investigation has been launched and detectives have arrested a 66-year-old man in connection with her death.

David Jackson, of Worksop, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court on Friday charged with murder.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in court at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday 22 August.

Ms Taylor’s family said in a statement: “There are no words to describe what we are going through as a family. All we can say is our hearts. I’m completely heartbroken.

“We have lost a beautiful and caring daughter, mummy, sister, aunt, niece, niece and cousin.

“We are truly disappointed that our beloved Mckyla was taken from us in the worst possible way and that we will never get to see her beautiful face and smile again.

“It just left us with a huge hole in our hearts that can never be repaired.”

Detective Inspector Kaz Smithson, of Nottinghamshire Police, added: “Mckyla’s death was an absolute tragedy and I can only imagine the pain her loved ones are going through right now. .

“I want to send my sincere condolences to the family and reassure them that we are doing everything we can to give them the justice they deserve.

“We are pleased to have taken an important step in our investigation by charging a suspect who has now appeared in court.”
