F-150 Lightning reboot, Tesla wireless charging, Kia EV9 tease, EV journey time: Car News Today


Ford says it will restart production of the F-150 Lightning. Kia EV9 will launch this month. EV owners are driving farther every day. And will wireless two-way charging make Tesla cars more useful at home and on the grid? This and more, at Green Car Reports.

Tesla suggested in the Investment Day presentation that it was looking at wireless electric car charger as part of its future. We’ve looked at how this technology could fit in with owner convenience, future self-driving (or self-parking) features, and two-way charging capability which Tesla also confirmed this week will be rolled out within two years.

The Design of Kia EV9 The electric SUV was revealed on Thursday in a few obscured images, though they are enough to highlight that the production EV9 will be very similar to the EV9 concept.

Ford confirmed on Thursday that it will F-150 Lightning production restart electric truck on March 13, to allow enough time to transport the new batteries and packages to the production line. It has yet to say what the battery-related issue is or confirm whether it could lead to a recall.

And according to a data analytics company that collects data points from millions of vehicles and billions of journeys, EV trip duration is increasing rapidly—and now it’s about the same as gas cars. That could be a sign that range anxiety is over and even more shoppers are directly replacing their scooter models with electric ones.
