Exercise Vigilance: British troops participate in cold weather training with the armed forces of Sweden and Finland | UK News
The British Army has participated in the exercise Oscillation Vigilance, an exercise involving the armed forces of Sweden and Finland.
The drills, aimed at enhancing “interoperability” as both Sweden and Finland want to join NATO, took place in Rovaniemi and Rovajarvi in northern Finland, the defense ministry said, the defense ministry said.
The drills were held against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine, which has raised concerns across Europe about security on the continent in the face of Russian aggression.
In July, the RAF appeared sent 4 Typhoons and 2 F-35Bs to Finland and Sweden for joint exercises.
Finland signed a joint security declaration with the UK in May, and is also a member of the UK-led Joint Expeditionary Force, an alliance of 10 countries.

Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said: “While there is war in Europe, it is more important than ever to strengthen our international partnership.
“We welcome applications from Finland and Sweden to participate NATO and will continue to exercise together, so we are ready to face common security challenges.
“The Vigilance Oscillation exercise is an invaluable opportunity for UK personnel to develop their skills and experience in cold weather, allowing them to operate effectively on the battlefield alongside their opponents. Finland and Sweden.”
