He later also canceled events scheduled for Thursday, including the inauguration of Turkey’s first nuclear power plant at Akkuyu on the Mediterranean coast. Akkuyu’s four nuclear reactors, largely owned by Russian company Rosatom, took several years to build and their openings have been timed to coincide with the elections.
