EVlution launches charging stations at RHB Center KL – New CPO targets 100 chargers in first half of 2024, 2 thousand in 2025

There’s a new EV charging point operator (CPO) in town and EVlution’s chargers have made their debut at the RHB Center in KL. That’s the bank headquarters along Jalan Tun Razak, opposite TRX. The charger was launched today by Transport Minister Anthony Loke in conjunction with RHB’s Green Week launch.

The company is optimistic, targeting 100 chargers by the first half of 2024, which would see it reach its goal in a little over two months. EVlution’s longer-term goal is to deploy 2,000 chargers nationwide by 2025.

“Our mission at EVlution is clear: to make a significant contribution to Malaysia’s automotive landscape by providing advanced, accessible, reliable and sustainable EV charging solutions. When we embarked on this journey, we set ambitious targets to have 100 electric vehicle charging stations operational by the first half of 2024 in urban areas in the Klang Valley, Penang and Johor,” Director said EVlution executive Jeffrey Ong.

“Furthermore, our commitment goes beyond providing electric vehicle charging infrastructure; We strive to promote clean and renewable energy. In fact, we are currently bidding for the fifth round of the Large Scale Solar (LSS) program this year, further reinforcing our commitment to sustainable energy solutions for a brighter future,” he added.

EVlution says it is the only CPO in Malaysia to offer a combined payment system that allows users to pay fees through the EVlution mobile app or via debit/credit card. CPO has partnerships with RHB Bank and Mastercard, which is why the latter’s branding is so prominent, but Visa cards can also be used. EVlution, RHB and Mastercard are planning special campaigns and offers for customers, which will be announced in the coming months.

Meanwhile, RHB said it has provided financing for more than 2,000 green vehicles with a total value of RM325 million, as of December 2023. Financing for electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles and conventional hybrid vehicles up up to RM500,000, with interest rates as low as 2.1%. each year. The two EVlution chargers in the lobby of the RHB Center are Autel 22 kW AC chargers and the maximum speed is 40 sen per minute if you use over 12 kW.
