Even BMW toy cars come with that big grille
Just when you think you’re used to BMW’s oversized kidney grid on its M4 And M3 . modelThe German car company has left and forcing divisive design details to another model, this time targeting a much younger demographic.
In case you lost it:
BMW first introduced The oversized kidney grille on the Concept 4 back in 2019 and the design was included series 4, M4 and M3 soon after. But since its launch, the design has not been well received. Some viewers compared it to a pig and others claimed it made the cars look sportier.
But BMW has a simple solution to all the hate in the car community: nurture a whole new generation of car fans who consider this design completely normal. To do this, the company added an oversized kidney to the front of its BMW Baby Racer toy car.

The car, for anyone not in the know, is about the only brand new BMW I could afford to buy right now. It retails for about $130 and is a simple riding toy for children to enjoy. It has been around for a few years and is currently in its third generation.
This year, the BMW Baby Racer III has been updated with a design to better match BMW’s current lineup. CarScoops report. Up until this point, the Baby Racer III doesn’t really bear a striking resemblance to any car in the BMW lineup. However, thanks to a few tweaks to the front and rear of the car, you can pretty well predict the model BMW is mimicking here.
The new grille comes with the same jet-black look you’ll find in the M4, as well as same horizontal bar covering the grille in that car and the M3. I wonder how long it will be until the kids start making their own aftermarket parts to patch the grille?
Either way, this car isn’t quite the grille and there are even more design tweaks at the rear, where BMW has fitted new taillights to the Baby Racer III. As for the front end, they are quite similar to the lights you will find on the back of the M4.
Just don’t count on any performance upgrades on the Beemer Baby Racer III. But that’s mostly because it only runs on your little one’s feet.
