Epic Games Store finally has a shopping cart

This happened a few days ago, but we probably shouldn’t let it go by in vain. After three years of R&D, the Epic Games Store has added a shopping cart.

There’s an eight-second video announcing that, why not:

“If you’ve shopped online before, the shopping cart works exactly as you expect,” announcement post. You can press the “Add to Cart” button on the game pages to add it to your cart and repeat the process until you have all the items you want and are ready to pay.

At the time of checkout, you can enter a creator code if you’d like 5% of your purchase to go to a specific creator. There’s also a “go to favorites” button if you decide to save a purchase for later.

This activates my favorite online shopping experience: browse a store to find an item or items I want, add them to my cart, then decide I don’t really need it. them and close the window. This could be followed by my second favorite online shopping experience: rushing to buy something from the same store at a later date and not noticing old items still in my cart. I, and so, unknowingly bought those things.

While the shopping cart is long gone, the Epic Games Store continues to expand its selection of exclusive and free games. This week’s free offerings are Prison Architect and Godfall: Challenger Edition, while next week will see appearance of FF7 Remake exclusively on EGS.
