ONE change is coming for those who use Steam for Final Fantasy XIV. FFXIV will soon require an account link between the Steam account version and the official Square Enix account. Square Enix announced that it will be required starting March 2022. When it happens, people will also have to use the new Launcher Layout option.
Square Enix quoted FFXIV Linking your Steam account as a means of ensuring security. One must have the license of the game. Once change takes place, everyone needs to go through the process once. This links it to a Square Enix account. It also means that people then need to launch the game from Steam to play and can’t use the Native Launcher Interface.
This process will not be requested until later Letter from LXVIII LIVE Part manufacturer Presentations. Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida will have a look at what’s to come on February 18, 2022. There may be a more precise window for FFXIV Steam account link and other technical updates. Before that presentation, people can also submit questions for Yoshida to answer.
Final Fantasy XIV and it Endwalker Expansion is available for PS4, PS5 and PC. Square Enix will need to link their Square Enix and Steam accounts sometime in March 2022.
