Hello visitors! This is your Genshin Impact development team, inviting you to join Teyvat’s summer with Genshin Impact Version 2.8, Summer Fantasia, coming out on July 13! The Golden Apple Islands have once again opened up with a different look, offering a variety of plots, stories, challenges and rewards. Get ready to dive into areas you’ve never been before and discover a different side of your longtime companions.
Then, a year after Kaedehara Kazuha first arrived, the wandering samurai seems to want to deepen his friendship with you as he brings the first chapter of his personal Story Quest, as does the friend. His body is Shikanoin Heizou.
Summertime Odyssey
Compared to previous island adventures, this year’s Summertime Odyssey mega event aims to deliver even more as the Golden Apple Islands witness a dramatic makeover. Fresh landscapes and lots of new stories can be found throughout the event; including richer bonuses like a large number of new treasure chests. Players will also have a chance to receive the four-star Fischl character and her latest outfit, both of which are available for a limited time.
Visitors visiting the Golden Apple Islands this summer can expect some serious exploration, as each island has been transformed through different themes and puzzles. Xinyan, Fischl, Kazuha, and Mona who are with us also seem to have their secret connections to certain areas where you can encounter mysterious kingdoms with danger and treasure.
Sailing has always been a highlight of island recreation, and this summer you can go super fast with your Waverider on a specially designed course or paddle online with friends. For example, Flashback mode is a specific co-op event with three different game modes. Convoy mode requires all participants to escort a large raft to a destination, while Raid requires players to ride their own Waverider onto floating platforms and take out enemies. In Descent mode, players will have to fight their way from a high platform in the sky. Be careful, or you and your teammates may have trouble staying in the air.
If you want a leisurely stroll along the beach, be sure to pick up special pieces during the Resonating Visions event. By collecting short stories, you can listen to fascinating stories and stories, and swap out Fischl’s brand new outfit with certain short stories. Overall, this year’s Golden Apple Islands will not only give seasoned Travelers a sense of familiarity, but will also introduce a variety of exploration mechanics and new storylines for everyone!
Link with friends
While you’re having a good time on the islands with other characters, Version 2.8 lets you bond with more friends, both old and new. Diluc, Kaedehara Kazuha, and the all-new four-star playable character Shikanoin Heizou will appear in the latest events and stories.
As one of the early playable characters, Diluc will receive a brand new skin. Outfits, featuring special skins, new idle animations, and new effects, will be available in the Store soon. Meanwhile, its plot and test phase can be found in the Hidden Strife challenge event.
After being in the game for over a year, Kaedehara Kazuha’s Story Quest has finally arrived. Coming from a prominent family of swordsmiths in Inazuma, Kazuha’s story seems to involve a mysterious sword and a duel. You will learn more in his Story Quest, Chapter Acer Palmatum.
Kazuha’s friend Shikanoin Heizou is also coming in the upcoming version. Heizou is a young genius detective of the Tenryou Commission who is active on the front lines of the war against criminal masterminds. Despite her free-spirited and bohemian nature, Kujou Sara appreciates her ability to solve crimes. You can learn more and even join his work in his Hangout Event.
In combat, Heizou was our first melee catalyst user. Although he uses catalysts and carries Immobile Vision, his Elemental Skills and Elemental Explosion are both weaponless techniques like his Basic Strike. His Elemental Skill will launch a Heartstopper Attack, and loading his Elemental Skill can grant him special “Declension” stacks. When Heizou reaches a certain amount of Declension stacks, the Elemental Skill’s DMG and AoE will increase. His Elemental Burst will launch a Windmuster Kick, pulling enemies around and dealing AoE Anemo damage. If an enemy is affected by the element Hydrogen, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro, a subsequent explosion will delay, dealing damage to the respective element type. Furthermore, Heizou can reduce the Stamina cost of sprinting for your party members.
Shikanoin Heizou will appear in Kaedehara Kazuha and Klee’s rerun event wish during the early stages of Version 2.8. A rerun of Yoimiya will be available in a later phase of the update.
Extra Bonus
With version 2.8, more events and rewards are also waiting for you to discover. For example, with the Evermotion Mechanical Painting event, you can solve a special puzzle game and get a new Furniture for your Serenitea Pot.
