ElonJet, suspended on Twitter, now follows Elon Musk’s jet via Meta’s Thread
Jack Sweeney, creator of following account by Elon Musk private jet in real-time, has switched to Mark Zuckerberg’s Twitter rival Threads after being suspended by Twitter last year.
“ElonJet has come to the Theme!” read Sweeney’s first post on Thursday from handle account @elonmusksjet, which had more than 21,000 followers on Saturday morning.
ElonJet tracked the movements of Musk’s private jet using data available in the public domain.
In December, Twitter Inc, which is owned by Musk, suspended ElonJet’s account, with the billionaire threatening legal action against the account’s operator after saying his son had been “hacked by an attacker” crazy tracking” wrong tracking.
The Meta-owned thread, which poses a direct challenge to Twitter, has amassed millions of users within hours, including prominent figures such as Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, and the United States Democratic Representative. United States Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, as it seeks to capitalize on its rival’s weakened state after a series of tumultuous decisions from Musk.
Sweeney, Twitter and Meta did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
