According to a Police and Crime Commissioner, ELECTRIC police cars are running low on batteries when responding to emergencies because sirens and green lights drain batteries.

Gloucester Constabulary has full electric vehicle fleet in the UK, with 21% of their 435 vehicles being electric. Chris Nelson, Conservative Police and Gloucester Crime Commissioner, said tram-driving officers vehicle had a hard time finding chargers in the county.

A Tesla spokesperson said the Model 3 was able to do more than 200 miles of enhanced driving using blue light.
It can take part in four-hour runs when actively deployed in “enhanced driving conditions”.

Do the police ask the criminals they are chasing to take a break while they put the electric car on the fast charger?
Electric vehicles may not be feasible for the average person who doesn’t have to drive much, in a compact country like the UK. For police use, not so much.
