From the editors:

Editor Zac Palmer – “The Mazda3 is still one of the best compact cars you can buy. Sure, one Honda Civic It’ll be a lot more comfortable with its huge utility, but nothing can rival the Mazda in terms of interior quality and attractiveness. However, the real appeal to the Mazda3 is in the way it operates. Switch to manual or Turbo, and you’ll have a blast.”

Quick get: The arranger There’s real competition right now, but the sheer number of variations and huge possibilities still make it a great off-road vehicle. From the PHEV 4xe to the 392, the Wrangler is a great fun ball.

Scored: 7.0

What it competes with: Ford Bronco, Toyota 4Runner, Land Rover Defender

Advantages: Great off-road vehicle, a variant for every need, interior options and handy hood

Defect: Expensive, terrible ride and handling, poor efficiency

From the editors:

Road Test Editor Zac Palmer – “Even if the Wrangler drives pretty badly in most road situations, there’s only one other thing that makes it like off-roading, which is Ford Bronco. I just adore the 392 with its unbelievably large exhaust and huge amount of power. The 4xe is also desirable in its own right, as the PHEV is both fast and offers true electric driving. Bronco may have a few spots on Wrangler, but there’s no denying that Jeep car remains an off-roader legend.”

News editor Joel Stocksdale – “The Jeep Wrangler is a strange thing. The steering is unclear and needs constant adjustment. It’s not particularly quiet, especially when it’s raining. It’s thirsty, the logical conclusion of rushing to drive a heavy, brick high-speed vehicle, but I’ll be damned if it’s not enjoyable, and that fun is multiplied when the roof panels unfurl and the windows roll down The Jeep’s excellent visibility and narrow body make it easy to navigate around town with confidence.”
