A fan at a recent screening of “Red Notice“ get more than one view Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s latest action movies. He got Johnson’s personal vans as well, an amendment Ford F-150 Raptor. The actor gave his car to a surprise fan exchange worthy of making the Navy veteran nearly fall because of its generosity.
The screening was set up by Johnson for his fans. He paid for the movie, the concession, the ice cream and the drinks. However, the actor wanted to give something extra special to a special fan.
“My original idea was to give Porsche Taycan, which I drove in the movie, Red Notice, “Johnson posted on Instagram. “So we contacted Porsche, but they said no. “
“But I still say, yes,” Johnson continued. “I’ll make better than one. I’ll give my own custom truck as a gift. My kids.”
Johnson had as much background information as possible about the individuals who attended the screening. The story of one particular man, Oscar Rodriguez, spoke to him. As Johnson describes it, the Navy vet is also a personal trainer, church leader, and he volunteers to help victims of domestic violence with meals and support. On top of that, he takes care of his 75-year-old mother.
Johnson surprised Rodriguez at the screening, calling him down to the front of the theater and telling the audience about his good deeds. Rodriguez, eager to meet his idol, hugged the actor three times. Johnson then took the audience outside, where his truck was waiting.
He then passed Rodriguez a letter that read, “Thanks for your service, brother. Enjoy your new truck.” When reading the message, Rodriguez got angry, fell to the ground before giving Rock a fourth stranglehold. Moved to tears, Rodriquez exclaimed: “I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen you in this truck.”
“That’s my baby,” Johnson replied.
The act of great goodwill has received countless positive comments on social networks. Even Ford CEO Jim Farley tweeted, “Kindness is important. Well done, DJ.”
After Rodriguez drove his new Raptor, The Rock turned to the camera and quipped, “And now I can figure out how I get home.” It will be interesting to see which vehicle The Rock chooses next.
