Drivers sit in front of their vehicle for 2 hours to prevent it from being towed
No one likes their car being towed. Likewise, no one likes vehicles parked in open spaces, so while it sucks, they need to be pulled off the road to avoid congestion.
The set of photos posted to the Facebook group Malaka parking lot shows a Melbourne driver settling down on a long stretch of road, sitting between their Mazda CX-30 and a trailer trying to tow it to prevent it from being loaded onto a truck.
The picture posted to the group was taken shortly after 4pm on King Street in Melbourne’s Central Business District – a notorious hotspot for law breakers who apparently cause traffic chaos.
More than an hour later, another image was posted, showing police riding on horseback.
The same image shows the vehicle’s right-hand indicator lights, headlights and taillights on. It is not clear if they were able to get out or if the vehicle’s alarm went off when it was towed onto the truck.
One user in the Facebook group claimed to have been a truck driver in the past, and if the tires hadn’t touched the flat surface the vehicle wouldn’t technically have been impounded.
Either way – we’re sure it’s a source of entertainment for anyone watching.
