The 6-year-old foal will have its first season at Haras La Pasión, which is part of a coalition of breeders supporting the new stallion that includes Haras Firmamento and potentially more.

“He is a good racehorse, with both physique and excellent lineage. La Pasión and Firmamento will also be working alongside us, and the expectations around all of us are great,” said Alejandro Lusa. of La Nora told Turf Diario.

Bred by Cloyce Clark of Kentucky, Dr Post is apart from Mary Delaney, Hennessy 2nd place winner. Agent Jay Goodwin purchased the mare on behalf of Clark for $25,000 at the January 2017 All Age Horse Sale in Keeneland. She was romantically involved with Dr. Post, who was later sold for $200,000 at weaning and then $400,000 when hankering for a JJ Crupi needleman. The pony was campaigned by Vincent Viola’s St. Elias Stable and coached by Todd Pletcher.

Dr. Post went on to win the first start at 3 and shortly after his first stake win in Uncontrollable Bets at Gulfstream Park. In the third start of 2020, he finished second Tiz Law in Belmont Stakes (G1) and next third in Haskell Stakes (G1). He will win two bets classified at 4, taking the Westchester Stakes (G3) at Belmont Park and Monmouth Cup Stakes (G3) at Monmouth Park. He has placed two other Tier 1 stakes in his career, finishing third in both Pacific Classic Stakes (G1) and Woodward Stakes (G1).

After racing 2 to 5, Dr. Post retired with a 4-1-3 finish in 13 starts and made $888,422.

Dr. Post will be the first Quality Road son to stand in Argentina, according to Turf Diario. Elusive Quality’s son stands at Lane’s End for $200,000, Quality Road is currently third on BloodHorse’s overall lead sire list with nearly $7.7 million in progeny income. He is the eighth most active sire in North America by lifetime number of level/group 1 winners with 15 and the male of this year’s Preakness Stakes (G1) winner National treasures .
