The Jockey Club’s Thoroughbred Incentive Program (TIP), which promotes the retraining of purebreds into other disciplines upon completion of a racing or breeding career, announced today those wins and other accolades from the 2021 achievement awards program and the TIP/USPA annual polo award.
The Show Awards recognize the Hybrid Horses that have accumulated the most points at all horse shows and cover a wide variety of fields and levels of experience. In 2021, 726 thoroughbreds from 42 states and four provinces competed in more than 15,000 classes, divisions and events. Divisional awards are calculated in 14 disciplinary categories as well as 92 disciplinary categories and 8 junior driving categories. Category and division awards including the Green OTTB category for Thoroughbreds last took place in 2019, 2020 or 2021, with generous sponsorship of these awards by the United States Purebred Charity. United States (TCA) provided. Winners will receive ribbons, bonuses and a variety of prizes, including coolers, lanyards, bags, keychains and clothing. In addition to category and division awards, the Pure Technical Care Alliance (TAA) sponsors performance awards for horses adopted from TAA-accredited organizations and the Retired Racehorse Project (RRP) provided awards to the highest performing RRP Makeover alumni.
