Donnie Wahlberg Finally Breaks Her Silence About The Serious Loss Of Her Dog, Lumpy
As you live your life in the limelight and are also an animal lover, your furry family members also become famous and develop a fan base. This is exactly why it took Donnie Wahlberg so long to open up about the tragic death of her dear friend “Lumpy”.
Instead, he wants to keep the focus of his latest tour as positive as possible. But after a lot of questioning, he finally opened up.
While Donnie Wahlberg may be best known for singing and composing with New Kids On The Block, he’s also known by the nickname “Lumpy’s Dad”. After his son Elijah convinced him he could use some company while he was on tour and away from home, Lumpy, the four-legged Frenchie, became his frequent companion.
Lumpy never leaves his side when he travels and is a regular fixture on private jets, in the recording studio, and at outings on set. Fans from all over the world fell in love with Lumpy. How can you not? He’s such a super cute sidekick and an incredible addition to Donnie’s life.
Night after night, on his latest tour, he was asked by fans about the whereabouts and state of lovable Lumpy’s health. But Donnie decided that he wanted to keep his meet and greets focused on the positives, and avoid the conversation altogether.
“I did so to allow our time together at the meet and greet (and at the concerts) to be a time of joy, happiness, and love. Three things we all need after several years of sadness, heartbreak, and struggle, says Donnie.
But now, Donnie has revealed details and opened up to fans about the passing of her beloved friend. Francis “Lumpy” Wahlberg passed away at the age of 12, and was in convalescence in March of this year.
Donnie shared her heartfelt feelings in a post on her personal Instagram page. He combined his words with a collection of photos and videos showcasing some of the great memories he’s made with his beloved best friend over the years they’ve been together.
“As someone who strives to find gratitude, even in the most heartbreaking moments, this situation is no different for me. So today, although a lot of tears have been shed as I write this, my broken heart is replaced with a grateful heart. A heart filled with gratitude and love for having been blessed with the best friend a guy could ask for. I don’t mourn Lumpy today – instead, I celebrate his anniversary. I invite you to do the same,” Donnie wrote on Instagram.
Donnie shared that this loss has taken a huge toll on his family, especially himself and his son. Their funny Frenchie is more than just a pet. He becomes a best friend who provides comfort and company while Donnie is away from family. Lumpy’s The positive, playful presence was felt by everyone who met him and many missed.
