Dog rescued from forest helps owner find lost pet

Willow’s situation seems bleak when Graham Whatmough ran into her in the woods.

Graham was used to hiking and exploring new areas. One day, while foraging on the street, he came across a seemingly abandoned dog – Willow.

She broke both legs and she probably wouldn’t have lived long without help. Thankfully, Graham was able to get the help she needed.

Since then, the two have been inseparable. Willow recovered from a leg injury and went on to become an adventurer, accompanying Graham on every hike and tour near their home in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada.

But more than that, she’s proven she’s good at collecting scents and finding missing animals. In fact, she helped find many lost pets when no one else could!

Graham shared with ViralHog that in February of this year, Willow helped him find a Weimaraner dog named Luna that had been missing for 12 hours at -20C. He said it only took Willow about 15 minutes to find the dog, while others searched tirelessly.

Later, Graham learned of a chihuahua that had been missing for a few days around the same area where they had found Luna. He shared on Facebook that he decided to take Willow to investigate, and in less than five minutes, she found a small dog named Taco.

Graham wrote, “I really couldn’t believe it and really still can’t, less than 5 minutes I think. There was Taco standing in the snow looking back at us.”

Sometimes the most incredible animals get the worst treatment in life, but when given a little love and care, they go on to do amazing things.
