Doberman Pinscher’s appearance
Doberman Pinschers has a neat, strong, and striking chassis. They have poise, alert, movie-ready poses and smart, energetic expressions. Dobermans have a deep, broad chest, strong neck, and a medium, square, and muscular body. Their heads are wedge-shaped with black and alert eyes and ears that are drooped or pointed upwards. They have a (usually) curved tail and straight limbs. Dobermans can come in black, black & tan, grey-green, fawn, red and white. In general, they have a courageous, determined and proud appearance.

What do they want to live with?
Despite their fearsome reputation, Doberman Pinschers are lovable and affectionate intelligent dogs. They are also known to be dedicated and sensitive, cunning and attentive, which may explain their success as police and military dogs.
More than anything, these are people-oriented dogs that crave attention, positive reinforcement, and quality time with family. With the right training and socialization, they can be sweet and easygoing with children.
Highly intelligent, Dobermans have a range of skills including search and rescue, agility, and therapeutic work. When given a task and given a lot of mental stimulation, Doberman Pinschers will always be docile and cheerful.
Dobermans, while loving their family, can be very protective and suspicious of strangers. If they think their handler is threatened, they will do anything to keep them from harm.
Things you should know
Don’t be afraid of your Doberman. They need a solid owner and everyone in the house should know how to discipline them (in a very positive way, of course). They can get pushy if they go their own way for too long. If you’re not prepared to work with a Doberman, you could try a more manageable breed.
Dobermans will be fine in an apartment as long as they get enough exercise and attention. They are probably not the best pets when it comes to young children.
A healthy Doberman can live up to 12 years. Common health problems include heart disease, hip dysplasia, and bloating. Protect them from cold weather — their short coat makes them sensitive to the cold.
History Doberman Pinscher
Doberman Pinschers (pincher means “biter” in German) were developed in the 19th century by a German tax collector named Louis Doberman. He bred these fearsome dogs to guard him on his daily laps. Taking advantage of his part-time job at an animal shelter, he used a mixture of breeds — possibly Rottweilers, Black and Tan Terriers and German Pinschers — to create the classic Doberman. In 1921, the Doberman Pinscher Club of America was founded, helping to promote the breed in America
