After a career-defining win over Canelo Alvarez in May, WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol will now face the formidable Gilberto Ramirez on November 5. “World Boxing Association (WBA) bout price between Dmitry Bivol (@bivol_d) and Gilberto Ramírez (@ZurdoRamirezz), due to be held today, has been suspended,” WBA announced on Sunday, “because both sides have reached an agreement to fight November 5 in the United Arab Emirates. Unified. The match will be streamed live on the DAZN streaming service. “Frankly to end another great fight this morning!” Eddie Hearn himself, Boxing promoter for Matchroom tweeted. “@bivol_d v @ZurdoRamirezz made on November 5th! Full details will be announced soon. ”

Bivol 20-0 certainly got his greatest ring-wearing moment to date when he overtook Canelo in Las Vegas last spring. Despite being seen as a formidable adversary to Canelo from before, Bilvol proved to be a bridge too far for the red-haired star, simply beating the ambitious Canelo over the course of 12 rounds. A rematch between the two is also possible, as long as Canelo outlasts Gennady Golovkin in their third fight this September and Bivol beats Ramirez. However, neither of those possibilities is guaranteed. Fight fans know the trouble Golovkin caused Canelo in the ring. Furthermore, Ramirez is the furthest thing from a motivator.

Boasting a perfect 44-0 record, Ramirez, who is nicknamed “Zurdo”, used to hold the WBO super middleweight belt. Moreover, he wants to have a big fight for many years. Although he doesn’t have to face a star as lucrative as Canelo, it’s no small thing to go up against the man who has recently been the best in Canelo. Ramirez’s final fight was a fourth-round knockout victory over Dominic Boesel in Ontario, California in May. As he has proven thirty times, the man can hit. It will be interesting to see how the match against the cunning Bivol will play out in style.

The truth is, for whatever reason, Bivol doesn’t want the next fight. Instead, he tried to fight Joshua Buatsi, but the WBA failed to do so. Bivol therefore chose to defend his belt against Ramirez, who had long wanted to take on the Russian chief skill.

“The deal is done,” Ramirez promoter Golden Boy honcho Oscar De La Hoya announced on social media Sunday, “we are going to Abu Dabi on November 5 to prove what I already know. . @ZurdoRamirezz will be self-proclaimed world champion vs Bivol @GoldenBoyBoxing@MatchroomBoxing@DAZNBoxing@makeawar
