Dirty first pony for Rock Your World 1st place winner
Spendthrift . Farm rock your world 2021 Santa Anita Derby (G1) winner by candy ride mated her first reported foal on January 9, when a foal was born at Diana Shoop’s Gem Farm near Lexington.
Bred by Mark & Allison Menscer’s Post Rock Ranch, the bay was the first pony out of American Pharoah mare Mrs. O’Connell .
Mark Menscer said: “We are delighted with this exciting thing. “She looks like Rock Your World. He smashed her. She has big bones and lots of substance. We couldn’t be happier, especially the mare’s first attempt.”
Bred in Kentucky by Ron McAnally & Deborah McAnally in addition to the Empire Maker mare that won the 1st bet Charm the Maker, Rock Your World was purchased by Sapphire Stable for $650,000 from Winter Quarter Farm shipment for the Chapter. Keeneland’s September 2019 annual sale.
Campaigned by Hronis Racing, Talla Racing and coach John Sadler, he began his promising racing career in California with three straight wins, including a 4 1/4 victory over the previous one. Medina Spirit in the Santa Anita Derby. That victory made him second choice after essential quality for the 2021 Kentucky Derby (G1), where he’s 17th after a traffic crash.
Rock Your World’s first three smashes were either multi-stakes winners or graded bet winners. As a $612,100 earner, he’s set to stand in the second season for the advertised $10,000 stand and nurse.
