Design of Lotus Type 132 SUV revealed in patent application

Until the official launch on March 29, European time, this might be our best look yet. Lotus type 132 power frequency divider.

When it launches, the Type 132 will be the largest and heaviest Lotus ever built. It will be interesting to see how the automaker manages to “simplify and then add light” to the family-friendly crossover.

From these patent images submitted by Wuhan Lotus to IP Australia, we can see the Model 132 builds are based on the design language laid out by Emira coupe and Evija hypercar, especially with the raised bonnet.

In addition to the wide LED headlights at the front and the full-width taillights at the rear, the Type 132 has a slim fit pop-up door handle and, what appears to be a camera recess instead of a traditional wing mirror.

While the crossover’s long rear overhang reminds us of a third row of seats, the small rear window seems to suggest otherwise.

In addition to breaking ground in size and packaging, the Type 132 will be built in China at a new $1.7 billion factory in Wuhan alongside the company’s other “lifestyle” vehicles. .

The company’s signature sports cars are manufactured at the Lotus factory in Hethel, UK.

If the Type 132 is a sales success, it will see the British sports car brand rankings as a way for long-term survival to follow in Porsche’s footsteps.

Based on the company’s new Premium architecture, wheelchair supports range in size from 2889mm to 3100mm, with the Model 132 able to fit the upper end of that scale.

Lotus says the high-end architecture vehicles will use 800V electric architecture, use batteries ranging from 92 to 120kWh and at their most powerful speeds of 0-100km/h in under three seconds. .

Model 132 will be part of the company Active product rollout history with four new electric cars set between now and 2026.

After the Type 132 debuts, there’s a Mercedes-Benz CLS-sized “four-door coupe” due in 2023, a smaller crossover in 2025 and a sports car in 2026.

The second version uses the E-Sport architecture that will be shared with Alpine.
