Deliveries of the Perodua Axia 2023 will continue despite the Daihatsu crash test; do not withdraw because it is safe – P2


After Daihatsu’s admission of “violationsSpecifically, as crash safety tests were carried out for regulatory approval applications involving four models, Perodua has released an official statement on the matter.

According to Perodua President and CEO Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, the Malaysian automaker has invited Daihatsu to conduct safety testing for the new Axia in Japan. This has been witnessed by the relevant authorities and agencies for their respective assessment.

“When we received news of this procedural irregularity from Daihatsu, we immediately contacted these agencies to determine if Perodua Axia safety standards had been compromised. We are assured that despite Daihatsu’s disclosure, the UN-R95 certification issued to Perodua Axia remains intact,” said Zainal.

“This means that the Perodua Axia is safe to drive and no recall will be issued and Perodua will stop delivering this new model to our key customers,” he added.

“We apologize for any trouble this has caused our customers, and we want to make sure that the safety information and specifications of all our models are up to date. verified by professional bodies. We will continue to monitor this situation and will update the public on this as it develops. We put the safety and comfort of our customers first and we will continue to do so as part of our ‘Beyond Go beyond’ what is expected,” the statement concluded.
