2024 Isuzu D-Max update leaked with new look

Isuzu is gearing up to give its strong-selling D-Max ute a makeover.

Images from Kurdistan Automotive Blog reveal the D-Max will receive a new set of headlights, grille, and front bumper to keep it fresh in the face of stronger than ever competition.

It’s not clear exactly when the updated D-Max will debut in Thailand, let alone arrive in Australia.

But the fact these cars are finished in a range of colours, and there’s a long line of vehicles wearing pre-delivery wraps, would suggest production has begun in earnest.

The latest D-Max debuted four years ago in Thailand, and hit Australia late in 2020. Four years is a standard cycle for models before a significant update.

There’s no word on whether Isuzu is planning any updates to the 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine under the bonnet, which currently makes 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque.

It’s also unclear if there are updates coming to the cabin technology, which has been put in the shade by the new Ford Ranger with its portrait-oriented touchscreen.

The D-Max is currently sitting third on the ute sales charts in Australia behind the Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger.

With 4044 deliveries of the cheaper 4×2 and 17,435 deliveries of the more expensive 4×4, it’s sitting more than 8000 sales ahead of the related Mazda BT-50 on the VFACTS sales charts.
