Reports say the fundraiser, organized by law firm Raiser & Kenniff, PC, is raising funds to pay Daniel’s legal fees. It said the funds would cover expenses “arising from any criminal charges filed,” as well as any future civil lawsuits and expenses related to the defense. for him.

According to the fundraiser, any additional proceeds will be donated to a mental health advocacy program in New York City.

Penny was released on bail after surrendering to police on second-degree manslaughter charges

Neely struggled with mental health issues and is said to have threatened Penny and his companions at the time of his death. The former Marine was questioned after the incident but was released soon after.
