Fans of the show were disappointed to see the NBC drama – which recently ended its six seasons on an emotional high – was ignored by Emmy voters when the nominations were announced on Sunday. Almost completely ignoring the show and its cast, This is us walked away with just a nod to “The Forever Now”, an original song written by Mandy’s husband Taylor Goldsmith and composer Siddhartha Khosla.
After Mandy congratulated the musicians on their nod (“extremely proud”), she penned a lengthy note on her Instagram Story reflecting the cast’s disappointment.
“Do I wish our show was recognized for what I think it’s supposed to be [sic] best hour? Sure,” she wrote on July 12. And Dan FogelmanOutstanding work of 6 seasons (hello THE TRAIN)? Ken OlinPerfect direction? Our crazy, talented cast and crew? Yah…. “
Mandy continued, “But nothing can take away from what our performance means to MANY (including us). It’s an incredible legacy to be a part of. I will forever grateful.”
