Cyberknife enters the top 10 list of breeders


Set a record by winning US$1 million TVG.com Haskell Stakes (G1), by Gold Square last Saturday Cyberknife moved up to seventh place in the Longines Breeders ‘Cup Classic’ Leaderboard, while undefeated Flight route maintain its overall leadership position. The Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic is a weekly ranking of the top 10 horses competing for the $6 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) at Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington on November 5.

3-year-old Cyberknife, coached by Brad Cox, claimed his fourth win in six starts this year, beating Taiba by a head in Haskell at Monmouth Park, and completed 1 1/8 miles in a record time of 1:46.24. Cyberknife, son of Longines Breeders ‘Cup Classic (G1) 2017 winner Gunman received 69 votes.

Flightline, owned by Hronis Racing, Siena Farm, Summer Wind Equine, West Point Thoroughbreds and Woodford Racing, remained at number one in the rankings for the fifth consecutive week. Coached by John Sadler, who won the 2018 Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) with Urge , Flightline got 235 votes. 4 year old kid Olympiad , owned by Grandview Equine, Cheyenne Stable, and LNJ Foxwoods, came in second with 197 votes. Coached by Bill Mott, the Olympiad is undefeated in five starts this year. In 1995, Mott coached Cigar to an undefeated season with 10 wins, culminating in a victory at the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) at Belmont Park. Mott also won the 2011 Classic, saddle Drosselmeyer .

China Horse Club and WinStar Farm’s 4-year-old boy Life is good winners of the Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) and John A. Nerud Stakes (G2), in third place with 194 votes for coach Todd Pletcher.

Dubai World Cup Champion Team (G1) Country Grammer , owned by Commonwealth Thoroughbreds, WinStar Farm, and Zedan Racing Stables, and coached by Bob Baffert, came in fourth with 151 votes. Boat racing, Stability track, Road cycling and William Strauss ‘4 years old Hot Rod Charlie runner-up at the Dubai World Cup, still in fifth place with 121 votes.

Winchell Thoroughbreds’ The epicenter , runner-up in both the Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve (G1) and Preakness Stakes (G1), in sixth place with 72 votes. Following Cyberknife in seventh is Klaravich Stables Early Voting Preakness Stakes winner, coached by Chad Brown. Early voting in eighth place with 64 votes.

Two more Pletcher-trained horses have joined the top 10. Whisper Hill Ranch’s 3-year-old Charge it 23-length winner of Dwyer Stakes (G3) at Belmont Park July 2, in 9th place with 38 votes, and Repole Stable, Phipps Stable, and St. Elias Stable’s Move one who captured the Suburban Stakes (G2) in Belmont on 9 July, coming in 10th place with 33 votes.
