Commonwealth Games 2022 Day 2 live update: Sanket Sargar leads with 113kg lift in a flash

Commonwealth Games, Day 2, Live Updates: Sanket Sargar finally lifted 113 kg on the third attempt. He is leading in the men’s 55 kg weightlifting final. He lifted 111kg and 107kg respectively on his second and first attempt at the recoil. Satwik Sairaj Rankosystemdy and Ashwini Ponappa made light of the Sri Lankan challenge in the second set as they took a 21-9 lead for an easy win. India took the lead 1-0. Meanwhile, Sanket Sargar will compete in the men’s 55 kg weightlifting event. On the other hand, India is leading Malta 7-2 in the Lawn Bowls event in Birmingham. Day 2 of Commonwealth Games promises plenty of exciting action and entertainment. On day two, Mirabai Chanu will be in action and all eyes will be on her whether she can come back with medals. India’s women’s hockey team will face Wales in the Pool A clash while Lovlina Borgohain will also start her campaign against Ariane Nicholson in the 66kg category. In mixed team badminton, the Indian team will play against Australia. The opening day of the Olympics turned out to be a success for swimmer Srihari Nataraj as he was able to qualify for the final round. Table tennis teams beat South Africa and Barbados with identical wins 3-0, but Australia beat India in a women’s cricket match in Group A.
