MANY of you should have learn of the suspension of Telegraph cartoonist Bob Moran for posting a hostile tweet directed at a well-known pro-lockdown NHS doctor for which he subsequently publicly apologised. You’ll be able to learn Sally Beck’s report here.

It was solely days after he launched his heartrending rationalization of his private state of affairs that had had pushed him to his outburst that the Telegraph dismissed him.

There will be few upsides to this cowardly remedy by the Telegraph, and definitely the perfunctory expression of sympathy from Dr Rachel Clarke, whose officiousness resulted on this younger father of three youngsters, one very severely disabled, dropping his livelihood, is not one.

In defense of a cartoonist who encouraged people to “verbally abuse” a doctor.

Once I first noticed it, not lengthy after turning into a columnist for this newspaper, I laughed out loud. Leunig was a contrarian and enormously common when his expertise was firing on all cylinders.

Nonetheless, apparently these days, I used to be one of many few who may respect his anti “woke” cartoons. He has been sacked from The Age after working for that august publication for nearly 50 years.

Angela Shanahan, for The Australian, defends Michael Leunig.

The Melbourne Age’s declining band of readers are being disadvantaged of the principal cause lots of them purchase the paper, its veteran highly-opinionated doodler Michael Leunig. He says he’s been sacked and is wailing to anybody who’ll hear about being “censored”. Properly boo-hoo. It needed to occur after all; all leftists fall out with one another eventually, like Lenin and Trotsky or Mao and Deng Xiaoping, over disagreements concerning the purity of their thought.

Nonetheless, Leunig can hardly complain. He’s had a very good run for somebody of restricted expertise.

Christopher Ankhurst, at The Spectator, is not so sympathetic.
