Commemorating the war when climate victory makes the true red of “green” – Can you accept that?

There is widespread concern about the human tragedy in Ukraine. How can there not be? And yet, there are those among us who are callous and opportunistic enough to celebrate the bloodshed as a victory of the “green” movement.

A group of political leaders and media outlets are now dancing over the graves of innocent civilians as the Ukraine conflict disrupts Europe’s gas supplies and is said to help bring an end to the conflict. The West’s “addiction” to fossil fuels.

There are many problems to be solved. First, the war has accelerated the trend back to fossil fuels – especially coal – which was initiated by ill-advised climate policies that forced the adoption of solar technologies. The weather and wind are unreliable and lead to energy shortages. So the trend is to increase dependence on fossil fuels, not to give up these energy sources.

However, our main complaint here is the disturbing callousness among celebrities with the United Nations’ World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and major news outlets like Politico.

“From a climate perspective, the war in Ukraine can be seen as a blessing,” said Petteri Taalas, WMO Secretary-General. He believes that the war “is accelerating this green transition”. Don’t such thoughts betray a cult-like obsession with climate hysteria?

At the heart of the green movement, is a fundamental disregard for human life. It is ironic that a movement that claims to save the planet for future generations is honoring the death of the present generation. This is not a fad, but a systemic feature of the green movement.

Concurring with the secretary general, some mass media argue that the war has promoted the green agenda. Going even further, Politico declared Russian President Vladimir Putin a green champion for his unwitting efforts to end the addiction to natural gas in Europe.

“It takes a war criminal to accelerate Europe’s green revolution,” Politico Europe wrote in its article. twitter feed. “Vladimir Putin’s brutal invasion of Ukraine has forced Europe to finally end its addiction to fossil fuels. For this reason, he topped our first #POLITICOGreen28 list.”

While these claims of opportunism are shocking, they are not new.

Consider the green movement’s tolerance to the environmental impact of wind energy. The mainstream media has long defended wind turbines against complaints about bird deaths. But as a conservationist who has studied birds of particular importance, I can assure you that no bird enthusiast is satisfied with leaving a dead carcass beneath the wings. turbine.

Wind turbines not only directly kill birds, but also alter ecosystems and destroy bird habitats. Be it the United States, Europe or Asia, the mortality rate of hundreds of thousands of birds is a scientifically proven fact. Bald eagles, a highly protected species in the United States, are legally allowed to be slaughtered by turbines — as are other raptors and migratory birds.

The silliest argument for defending wind turbines is that these deaths are no different than bird deaths caused by cats and tall buildings. But when was the last time you saw a domestic cat kill a bald eagle or falcon or hawk? Or have you ever seen tall buildings chopping off birds’ wings?

Greens are also overlooked as the ecological and human damage caused by the industrial process of obtaining rare earth minerals for the production of wind and solar machines. Entire lakes and villages have become toxic in the frenzy of so-called renewable technology.

Regardless of our opinions on climate issues, there is a dangerous stereotype that everyone should be concerned about — willing to sacrifice their lives to reduce harmless CO2 emissions.

Hostility towards fossil fuels alone costs lives because the energy produced is too expensive or simply unavailable to the poor, who suffer from poverty, disease and premature death.

The cult doesn’t care whether you can afford to pay your energy bills or whether you have a strong economy that brings growth and happiness to individuals and generations. It also doesn’t care about the birds in the sky or the whales in the ocean. It certainly doesn’t care about the market running out of food because of the war on nitrogen emissions in the agricultural fields. In short, the climate cult is willing – perhaps obligated – to sacrifice the people and beautiful creatures of this earth for its absurd religion.
