Columbia Missourian @CoMissourian Climate Change Mistakes and the Yosemite Fires – Rise to It?

Newspapers are supposed to give factual coverage of events. Clear, Columbia Missourian The newspaper did not receive the memo.

On Wednesday, July 13, the newspaper ran this editorial cartoon by John Darkow in comments section:

Cartoon, featuring Warner Brothers’ “Looney Tunes” character “Yosemite Sam” (in the world after waking, without his two characters) six guns one should note) in one of its trademark rants, made a major mistaken assumption about the Yosemite fire – “climate change” didn’t start it.

As Yosemite Sam might say, “GREAT HORNY TOADS!” If only Columbia Missourian fact-based reporting can be made. If only they could use the Internet to see what the newspapers on the scene reported instead of intentionally.

Even when it comes to their opinion page, where letters to the newsroom often contain factual misrepresentations, the newspaper has a duty to do at least one fact-checking method first. when they present the wrong thing like this.

Unfortunately, many of the media are conditioned to think that climate change is the root cause of anything bad happening, and so they fail to check the facts.

A cartoon in Chronicles of Augusta in 2015 by animator Rick McKee summed up the lack of fact reporting due to this condition very well:

In today’s media world, views about climate change seem to outweigh the facts about climate change. Sadly, even the beloved “Looney Tunes” characters are being enlisted to promote the false claim that climate change is causing extreme weather events.
