College football rankings: Michigan joins top 4, several new teams shortlist

When Michigan Needing a yard in fourth in a tight ball game against the undefeated Big Ten opponent, Jim Harbaugh didn’t hesitate.

Defeated Kent State, 39-22

After a ripe UGA game – led by you – Dawgs played the worst football of the season before Golden Flashing.

Georgia allows more points for the State of Kent (22) than 15 Oregon (3) South Carolina (7) and Samford (0) scores combined (10). In fact, only two teams have won 22 or more points above Georgia in their last 19 games: 2021 Alabama and 2022 Kent State.

Georgia trails Kent State 529 to 281 but has come back three times.

Dawgs STILL is the #1 team in the country – for now.

2. Alabama (4-0)

Defeated Vanderbilt, 55-3

The Tide leads Vandy 41-3 after three quarters, and the back-up midfielder Jalen Milroe enter because the defending champion won Heisman Bryce Young after Young made 385 yards of passing and four TDs.

3. Ohio State (4-0)

Defeated Wisconsin, 52-21

Wisconsin has never given up more than 41 points in a game with Jim Leonhard serving as defensive coordinator – he’s been doing that job for six years.

Buckeyes scored 45 points before the third quarter ended while quarterback CJ Stroud completed 17 of 27 for 281 yards and five TDs. Two Ohio State-backed projects – TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams – each person dashes more than 100 meters.

4. Michigan (4-0)

Defeated Maryland, 34-27

Running back to Corum put the Wolverines on his back with 30 dashes in 243 yards and two TDs in Michigan’s first win over the Power 5 team this season.

5. Clemson (4-0)

Defeated Wake Forest, 51-45, 2OT

The tigers had survived an excellent attack shown from the Demon Deacons, which Sam Hartmanranked 767th on the 2018 Sports 247 chart, almost on par with midfielder Clemson DJ Uiagalelei blow for blow.

Both QBs finished with over 330 yards of passes and at least five TD passes in this thriller.

6. Kentucky (4-0)

Defeated Northern Illinois, 31-23

Midfielder of Great Britain Will Levis crossed at least 300 yards in three of the Wildcats’ four games this season. He threw the 300 meters just three times in all of 2021.

7. Oklahoma State (3-0)

8. Tennessee (4-0)

Defeated Florida, 38-33

Hendon Hooker was so good that Tennessee might have thought it could beat Alabama on October 15.

In the match against UF, Hooker threw 349 yards and dashed 112 yards away. He has yet to make an interception since November 13, 2021, when he threw just one into the Georgia net.

Both Gators (576) and Vols (594) gain over 570 yards in a game best described as “option defense”.

9. Minnesota (4-0)

Defeated the state of Michigan, 34-7

Minnesota overcame Michigan State 312-45 in the first half, scoring its first 19 knockouts against Michigan State three, and allowing Sparta to run only 19 innings.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Ibrahim went on to become the best player in the country by becoming the first player to dash the 100 meters against Michigan State in 16 games.

This is the 13th time in a row he has rushed to 100 meters in a row.

ten. USC (4-0)

Defeated Oregon State, 17-14

It’s not beauty, but candidate Heisman Caleb Williams made great plays when it was needed most when the Trojans won against the difficult backdrop that was Corvallis.

11. Oklahoma (3-1)

Lose Kansas State, 41-34

The Sooners gave up more than 500 yards and 41 points in a modest loss after a stellar performance over the non-participating portion of their schedule.

Defeated Center Michigan, 33-14

After a 14-0 defeat in the first half, the Nittany Lions scored an unrequited 33 to beat CMU. That is a good news.

13. Oregon (3-1)

Defeated Washington state, 44-41

This game has more twists than just a piece of origami paper. The two teams totaled more than 1,000 yards of fouls – 628 of which came from UO – and an identical number of first kills (28) in the best Pac-12 game of the season so far.

Midfielder of UO Bo Nix completed 33 of 44 passes for 428 yards of passes, three TDs and one INT.

14. Brigham Young (3-1)

Defeated Wyoming, 38-24

Hall of Jaren crossed 337 yards and four times TD to lead the Cougars.

15. Baylor (3-1)

Defeated State of Iowa, 31-24

The Bears put together an impressive performance against a previously unbeaten team State of Iowa on the road. The Bears led 31-14 at the start of the fourth quarter.

16. Utah (3-1)

Defeated State of Arizona, 34-13

The Utes have won three games in a row since losing to Florida in Week 1, and they look impressive in every game.

17. Mississippi (4-0)

Defeated Tulsa, 35-27

The rebel defense blocked Tulsa’s attack. Midfielder of Golden Hurricane Davis Brin entered Vaught-Hemingway averaging over 400 yards per game. Against Ole Miss, he completed just seven of 13 attempts at 112 yards with TD.

18. State of North Carolina (4-0)

Defeated Connecticut, 41-10

Wolfpack’s Midfielder Devin Leary did the Huskies’ light work, completing 32 of 44 passes for 320 yards, four TDs and one INT in the win.

19. Texas A&M (3-1)

Beat Arkansas, 23-21

A&M is working again Devon Achane dashed 159 yards on 19 dashes in a game where the Aggies needed a missed goal from Arkansas late in the game to win.

20. Arkansas (3-1)

Lose Texas A&M, 23-21

21. Texas Technology (3-1)

Defeated Texas, 37-34, Old Testament

The Red Raiders had their first win over Texas in Lubbock since 2008 in front of a sold-out crowd at Jones AT&T Stadium.

22. Washington (4-0)

Defeated Stanford, 40-22

Washington was forced to have three turnarounds, and QB Michael Penix Jr. overcame 309 yards and two TDs in an all-out victory.

23. Kansas (4-0)

Defeated Duke, 35-27

The Jayhawks won 4-0 for the first time since 2009.

24. Kansas State (3-1)

Beat Oklahoma, 41-34

Adrian Martinez played the best match of his career. He passed over 200 and dashed to over 100 and four touchdowns in K-State’s annoyance of the Sooners.

25. Iowa (3-1)

Defeated Rutgers, 27-10

The Hawkeyes scored two defensive TDs in their win over a previously unbeaten Rutgers in Piscataway. Iowa’s defense only scored 23 points in the first four games – the fewest points scored in 66 years.
