Clout Chaser allegedly fled from police because of captured clicks


With one social media handled like that “thestolenz06” and a sign reading “WillRuN” in the background license plates, unsurprisingly, the man was allegedly behind the handle and behind the wheel of the vehicle spit fire 2018 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C7 was arrested. Carlos Clark was arrested late last month in Charlotte, North Carolina area after intentionally hitting one police patrol car then fled, followed Mecklenburg County District Court documents.

Videos on the social media account “thestolenZ06” on Instagram and TikTok have attracted more than 20 million views and include videos of Z06 speeding up in traffic, Drive close to the side of the road to avoid traffic, run from traffic stop, and fled during highway pursuits. Arrest records shows Clark was arrested on March 28 on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges including evading arrest with a motor vehicle, reckless driving, assault with a deadly weapon and trafficking in marijuana. CMPD detectives also allegedly executed a search warrant at Clark’s home and seized his Corvette Z06, hundreds of pounds of marijuana products, four guns including an AK-47 and $1,950 in money face.

Detectives in CMPD’s Operation Scarlet (Stolen Vehicle and Vehicle Recovery Enforcement Team) unit first became aware of Clark and the Corvette through his social media presence, according to WBTV. Once officials determined the vehicle was not stolen, they focused on capturing the driver, who was said to have fled from police multiple times. However, last weekend, CMPD posted about the Corvette and the X’s items being confiscated. The post has been deleted. CMPD representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Road & Track.

Notably, this is not Clark’s first run-in with authorities. Clark was previously arrested by the Cornelius Police Department for evading in a motor vehicle, according to Jail records from May 2023. However, in the most recent case, Clark posted $20,000 secured bond the same day he was arrested and returned to posting online. In the comments section of his most recent post, Stolen Z06 hit back at CMPD’s allegations, “…They literally took it down because it wasn’t true, they just wanted to smear that’s it.”

Listen guys, recording yourself is not cool at all avoid the police and share it with millions of people on the internet. In fact, it’s probably one of the dumbest ways to get yourself arrested. Careless driving not only affects the person behind the wheel but can also have devastating consequences for innocent road users and it’s good that no one was injured as far as we know.
