Cigna rebranded as 3 company units
Cigna is taking on a new corporate name and organizing its operations into three business units, the health insurer announced Monday.
Cigna Corp. will be the Cigna Group, Cigna Healthcare as the insurance arm and Evernorth Health Services as the care and pharmaceutical division including the Express Scripts pharmaceutical benefits management division. The company’s ticker symbol on the New York Stock Exchange remains unchanged as CI. Shares will begin trading as the Cigna Group on February 23, the company reported to the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday.
Cigna’s profits grew 24% to $6.7 billion in 2022, the company announced this month. Insurance membership grew 5.4% to 18 million last year.
