Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid recalled due to fire risk
WASHINGTON – Chrysler Stellantis’s parents are remember 19,808 dip into the mixture pickup trucks and urge owners to stop recharging them, following reports of 12 parked vehicle fires.
The automaker says the recall covers the years 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid vehicle. All were parked and turned off, while eight were connected to the charger. Stellantis said it is not aware of any related injuries or accidents.
Stellantis advises vehicle owners not to recharge their vehicles and to park them away from structures and other vehicles. The automaker said it was working to confirm the cause of the fires.
The vehicle owner can continue to operate the vehicle using the internal combustion engine.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration declined to comment.
The recall covers 16,741 vehicles in the United States, 2,317 vehicles in Canada, and another 750 vehicles outside of North America.
Other automakers have faced fire issues with plug-in hybrids or full plug-ins tram.
Synthetic engine suspend its production Chevrolet Bolt the tram in August and has extended the pause to the end of this month.
America’s largest automaker in August expanded its Bolt recall to more than 140,000 vehicles to replace the battery module after a series of fires. GM has also indefinitely halted retail sales of new Bolt vehicles.
