Christine Chiu shows off 2000s glamor at the Tom Ford Show

Okay, let’s step back a bit. What do you love about attending fashion week in New York?

NYFW is original, fierce, vibrant and exciting! Street style packs a lot of creativity and personality, and the runways are filled with surprising talent. NYFW celebrates diversity with an effortless, authentic way that I’ve never seen other fashion weeks hit with such force. The diverse cultures are infused into the designs, the range and backgrounds of emerging designers and the clash between high and low (upper, downtown) in NYFW keeps me constantly stand in front of you. NYFW is truly a global hub for art and taste.

Looking back a week, is there a show that really stood out to you and why?

This NYFW is one of a series of celebrations and celebrations, from Baguette’s Fendi 25th to Dennis Basso’s 40th to Pamella Roland’s 20th, Bloomingdale’s 150th, Harlem’s Fashion Row 15th and even the 20th day of the Metropolitan Museum of Costume Institute Friends. The vibe has come together and celebrates the fashion industry and people. In the same circuit, VogueThe 130th anniversary celebration, through #VogueWorld, is a standout show. #VogueWorld not only attracts incredible talent both on the runway and in the seats; it has created a unified vision with countless famous designers and brands, while also delivering a clear message about diversity, inclusivity and community in fashion. It’s fun, quirky and out of this world!

New York is our first look at the trends that will dominate spring 2023. Have you spotted any that you’re particularly excited about?

When I was a little girl, I grew up in a purple house with purple wallpaper, furniture, carpets, pleats, and more because my mom loved that color! Needless to say, I’ve avoided lilac for most of my adult life. For this fashion week, Micaela recommended a beautiful silky YSL suit in royal purple as a nod to my mother (who has passed away) and also to re-introduce this gorgeous colorway into the future. my fashion palette. Micaela was up to something, as all variations of purple can be seen in this season’s runway collections. Sequins, silks and see-throughs also seem to dominate the catwalk for NYFW S/S 23.
