Chick-fil-A will be closed on Christmas weekend

NS chicken chain will be closed on Christmas Day, which falls on a Saturday, in addition to the following Sunday. Traditionally, Chick-fil-A closed at Christmas. But due to the holiday this year, that means the restaurant’s roughly 2,600 US locations will be closed for two consecutive days. It will reopen on Monday, December 27.

Chick-fil-A closed its restaurants on Sunday because of Christian ownership. Its owner’s beliefs have caused controversy in the past. For example, CEO Dan Cathy said in 2012 that the company supports a “biblical definition of the family unit.”

In one Interview in 2018 With a local Atlanta TV station, Cathy reiterated his stance on same-sex marriage but said he is not anti-gay. Since then, the company has tried to steer clear of its less supportive stance towards the LGBTQ+ community.
In 2019, Chick-fil-A made big changes for his charity, ending donations to two organizations criticized as anti-LGBTQ+ – Salvation Army and Christian Athletes’ Association. Both organizations have controversial views on gay and same-sex marriage.
In one blog post from last year, Chick-fil-A said the chain’s restaurants will be open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day – including this year because they’re on Fridays and Saturdays.
