Casanova was ‘slashed’ by fellow inmates during prison attack
Immediately after officially giving up his relationship with the Gorilla Stone Nation Bloods gang, the Brooklyn-born rapper was incarcerated Casanova allegedly attacked by fellow inmates.

An officer said Casanova dealt with his attacker after being “slashed with a weapon”
According to internal reports obtained by NBC New York, Casanova was assaulted at the Essex County Correctional Facility on Thursday (June 15).
Special, Sarah Wallace NBC’s I-Team reported that correctional officers cited Casanova as “being slashed with a weapon by another prisoner” to name Ulysses lugo.
However, the rapper is said to be able to get the upper hand and is accused of taking revenge on his attacker with the help of others. According to a response officer, Lugo was eventually bled by this ordeal.
“Prisoner Lugo, you can’t see his face because he’s bloody… His whole face is bloody, and his entire uniform is also bloody.”
As for Casanova, the officer said he was “sitting there, and blood came out of his face.”
Despite this distressing account, Anthony Puglisic – an Essex County spokesman – stated only, “This minor incident and whether weapons were used are under investigation.”
The rapper recently sought to distance himself from gang life: “I’m out”
Casanova was attacked shortly after it was reported that he had renounced his gang ties in a letter to Judge Philip Halpern.
All Hip Hop shared the news after receiving the letter, and Casanova is said to have made the statement while pleading for clemency. After all, he faces up to 60 years behind bars.
In fact, the rapper “So Brooklyn” stated, “I don’t need to be affiliated with a gang to be successful.”
“I am telling you and anyone who will listen that I wanted out before I was arrested and I was out. I’ve learned through my music career that people will listen and that I don’t need to be affiliated with a gang to be successful. I don’t need to be affiliated with a gang even if I’m not successful.”
Later, Casanova admitted that he was “not a man” [who] Everyone needs to worry about the future.” He certainly also noted that he was “sorry for [his] past.”
“I’m sorry about my past… I’m not asking you to let go of the bad things. There’s a lot of it. I am asking you to see that the other side has finally begun to shine. I’m not someone the government wants you to believe in and I’m not someone you or anyone needs to worry about in the future.”
There are no further updates on the matter and the rapper will be sentenced on June 27.
