Resident Evil was a pioneer for “survival horror,” but this year Capcom will make it the pioneer of “survival revenge.” That is the motivation of Resident Evil Re: Versea new title focused on competitive multiplayer. Originally slated to launch in mid-2021, Reverse has been delayed to 2022. It is now set to launch on October 28, along with Resident Evil Village Gold Edition. Current owner of Resident Evil Village will have early access from October 23, 2022.

Resident Evil Re: Verse is a competitive online “revenge survival” mode for two to six players. Players can battle each other and against monsters on maps drawn from across Capcom Resident Evil The remake series: They will choose to play characters like Chris, Jill, Hunk, and Ada, and use a variety of weapons and items to gain the upper hand. The game also features a “Bioweapon’s Revenge” mechanic where the player can collect virus capsules. If defeated by another player, they will respawn as a powerful bioweapon based on one of the series’ many boss characters, such as Jack Baker or Nemesis. The more virus capsules they have, the stronger they become. “Revenge murder” players who knock them down are also rewarded with extra points.
The game supports cross-platform play and will be freely accessible to all owners of Resident Evil Village and Gold version.
Resident Evil Re: Verse Early access opens to owners of Resident Evil Village on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 23, 2022 at 7:00pm PDT, and ending October 25, 2022 at 11pm PDT.
